I've spent over twenty years working in recruitment and human resources across manufacturing, successfully executing recruitment campaigns for some of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest organisations.

Through my co-ownership of Bug & Bun, a small-quantity manufacturing business, I have gained invaluable, hands-on experience in various aspects of manufacturing.

This includes navigating import and export regulations, ensuring procurement processes, and maintaining compliance with labelling and packaging standards, as well as adhering to APVMA regulations.

This practical knowledge has deepened my understanding of the intricacies involved in the manufacturing sector.

In 2016, I founded QAR (Quality Assured Recruitment) entirely on my own, starting from the ground up.

Over the course of four years, I expanded the business, growing to a team of four dedicated recruitment consultants. Through hard work and a commitment to consistency and quality, we was able to build a reputation of delivering the highest quality recruitment services across Australia within the Manufacturing industry.

Eventually, a large Australian recruitment firm took notice and approached me, leading to the purchase of QAR—a milestone I’m incredibly proud of.

While this was a significant achievement, it also marked the beginning of my realisation that the corporate recruitment approach to recruitment didn’t fully align with my vision or values.

The way I wanted to approach recruitment—focusing on genuine relationships, tailored processes, and long-term outcomes—wasn’t in alignment with the environment I found myself in.

It became clear that larger corporate structures often prioritised internal targets and rigid processes over truly understanding and serving both clients and candidates. That’s when I knew I needed to make a change.

In mid-2024, I co-founded mfg. Talent Partners with Danny and Luana, driven by the frustration of seeing many agencies focus more on corporate structures and hitting targets than truly understanding their clients’ and candidates needs.

We wanted to build something different, where we could focus on hyper specialised and tailored recruitment solutions that put our clients and candidates first, without all the unnecessary layers.

Hey there! I’m Luana, and with a rich background in recruitment, marketing, and manufacturing, I’m proud to be a co-founder of mfg. Talent.

My background in the Recruitment, Manufacturing, and Marketing industries spans dairy, cosmetics, healthcare, medical devices, retail, and med-tech, where I’ve helped bring brands and products to life across the retail, wholesale, and online spaces.

Alongside mfg. Talent, I run LUV CREATIV, a successful Branding and Marketing Consultancy, where I work with some of Australia’s leading brands and offer these services to mfg. Talent clients.

One of my proudest achievements is founding By Luis Scent Design, which offers custom scent design and private label manufacturing for top-tier Australian brands.

I also co-own Bug & Bun with Wendy, our successful dog fragrance company.

Additionally, through LUV CREATIV, my Branding and Marketing Consultancy, I’ve had the privilege to service renowned clients across industries such as cosmetics, health & wellness, med-tech, and consumer products.

These ventures highlight my services and scope across Packaging Design, Branding and Brand Creation, Website Design and Development, Photography, and Marketing Strategy, providing creative and quality deliverables across several sectors.

Throughout my time working across the Recruitment and Manufacturing industries, I noticed a disconnect between the real needs of businesses and the traditional approaches used by many recruitment agencies.

While I understand it's challenging to offer completely customised services to every client within an Agency space, due to the scale of work and amount of clients, I can't help but feel the sense of dissatisfaction that approach can create for both clients and candidates.

This disconnect meant companies weren't always being delivered candidates that aligned, and candidates weren’t being placed in roles that truly embraced their individuality and career aspirations.

In mid-2024, Wendy and I co-founded mfg. Talent Partners driven by the frustrations mentioned above.

With mfg. Talent—we aim to bridge that gap. I’m driven by a desire to create more tailored, purposeful solutions in both the Recruitment and Marketing spaces that deeply understands and reflects both the client, company, and candidate.

We set out to build something fundamentally different—an agency that delivers hyper-specialised, tailored recruitment solutions with the addition of aligned Branding and Marketing services that put our clients and candidates first, without the unnecessary layers and structures that often get in the way of what really matters.
